From responding to a press enquiry and preparing for a debate in the Dutch House of Representatives to positioning our corporate brand. We organise events and maintain relationships with our partners in sports and charitable organisations. Every day, we also work to provide the best possible protection for our players and promote a transparent working environment. That’s what makes the playing field within Corporate Affairs so broad. And we do all this in an environment that is constantly changing. Our main task? Making it clear that Nederlandse Loterij is the most responsible gaming provider and the biggest supporter of sports and physical activity in the Netherlands.

Why we do it

All our games give people the chance to win great cash prizes. From ten euros to the Mega Jackpot or €10,000 every month. And by playing our games, people also support Dutch sports and a range of charitable organisations. As a responsible gaming provider, this allows us to be the biggest supporter of sports and physical activity in the Netherlands. It’s what we do – and what we want people to know us for. And that’s where our Corporate Affairs team plays an important role.

Safeguarding our reputation and protecting our players. That’s what Corporate Affairs is all about. We do this across three teams, each with its own area of expertise.

Responsible Gaming & ESG

While our ESG colleagues help ensure responsible and transparent business practices, our Responsible Gaming colleagues make sure that playing our games is fun – and stays that way. As a team, we work hard towards one clear mission: ensuring that no one gets into difficulty as a result of playing our games. We do this through an approach focused on prevention, detection and intervention. Read more about our approach here.

We put into words who we are and what we stand for as an organisation: the most responsible gaming provider and the biggest supporter of sports and physical activity in the Netherlands. From our annual report and website to our media relations, everything we do is carefully and consistently aligned – both with our different audiences and across our communications.

Corporate Relations & Events

This is a team of true networkers. After all, our work is all about building long-term relationships. We organise events for different audiences, from our colleagues and key stakeholders to our partners in the worlds of sports and charitable organisations. We also manage and allocate assets from sports partnerships, such as hospitality tickets and international trips. Special events and opportunities that our customers and beneficiaries can enjoy.

How we do it

There are many ways in which we show what we stand for as an organisation. We take a proactive approach and bring people along with us by sharing what we do.

For example, we want as many people as possible to know that Nederlandse Loterij contributed no less than €200.6 million in 2025. This money benefited sports, 18 charitable organisations and Dutch society as a whole. More specifically, we contributed €53.8 million to NOC*NSF, €20.4 million to 18 charitable organisations and €126.4 million to the Dutch State. That’s something we’re proud of. As an organisation and as a department.

We also showed our commitment to sports during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. How? Among other things, through Staatsloterij’s role as main sponsor of TeamNL – the team representing the Netherlands at the highest level of international sport, 365 days a year. Staatsloterij was also the main sponsor of the Staatsloterij TeamNL House. Thousands of Dutch fans came together here, watched hundreds of hours of sport and celebrated more than 30 medal ceremonies honouring our athletes.
