At Nederlandse Loterij, we process large volumes, in terms of numbers of users, transactions and the amount of data. Using the latest technologies, our Data & Tech teams form the technical backbone of the organisation.

The lotteries market is changing rapidly. The introduction of iGaming platforms is just one example. Our teams play a crucial role in this. In fact, they take part at Champions League level. New technology is immediately embraced and applied. Also, the data we collect is deployed in real time and this must be done responsibly. In this way, we continuously monitor whether playing along remains fun and we strive for responsible gaming. This allows the Data & Tech team to make an impact with the use of technology.
We are a fairly new, growing team consisting of approximately 110 colleagues, who are given freedom, responsibility and trust. These colleagues have their own input so we can come to a single result, together.
The Architecture team focuses on the management and improvement of the IT architecture. We primarily focus on processes, data and applications. Apart from that, we also monitor infrastructure and security. Our goal is to provide stable and high-performing IT systems that at the same time offer sufficient flexibility to meet the customer’s future needs.
This domain is divided into five sub-teams, DevOps, Software Development, Business Analysis, Testing & Release Management and Quality Assurance. The team consists of more than 60 colleagues and is responsible for all High class lottery & iGaming systems.
Do you like to know what software you will be working with? Our technology stack is fully cloud-based (Azure). We mainly develop in C#, NET Core and Vue JS. In addition, we use Ci/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and Robot Framework to automate our testing.
This domain is divided into three teams of 15 colleagues who are responsible for the foundation of the data-driven ambitions of Nederlandse Loterij. The teams handle data for purposes such as reporting & analytics, fraud detection, responsible gaming, personalisation and compliance. To process large volumes, with peaks of more than 100k messages per minute, we work with best-of-breed technologies. Data platform (Azure), Data warehouse (IBM), Databricks, Event Sourcing, Streaming, Terraform, GraphQL, CI/CD and Git are some examples.
The IT department is an important link between the internal stakeholders and the external suppliers of our lottery and gambling systems. We provide Service & Support to all internal and external employees. The department consists of three sub-departments, IT Support, IT Services and IT Security, employing 14 colleagues.
