Why we do this

All our games give people a chance to win a cash prize. From a tenner to the Mega Jackpot or €10,000 every month. The people who participate also support Dutch sports and various charities. This is how Nederlandse Loterij works on a happy, healthy and sporty Netherlands. This is what we do and want to promote further. To do this properly, the Corporate Affairs team plays a role within the entire organisation, from Responsible Gaming to Data & Tech.

Who we do this with

Our Corporate affairs team is made up of 29 colleagues. It is our job to involve people inside and outside our organisation in what we do. We are happy to take our responsibility and make this connection piece by piece.

Legal

down

Our talented people in Legal are responsible for all contracts. They are the advisors and policymakers who ensure that we comply with the laws and regulations within Nederlandse Loterij. This also includes the Remote Gambling Act, which opened up the market for online games of chance. They also ensure that our advertising policy is correct. The latter starts with making the legislation and regulations transparent and understandable for our marketing team, for example.

Public affairs

down

In this department, everything revolves around conducting the interactive dialogue. This dialogue builds and maintains long-term relationships, and promotes collaboration with colleagues, with the industry association and with politicians. Together this creates a link with the business strategy and objectives of Nederlandse Loterij.

Corporate communication

down

We put into words who we are and what we stand for as Nederlandse Loterij. This story forms the core message used in all channels and in all forms of communication and publicity. Examples include our annual report, the website, during events and spokespersons’ texts. Everything is tuned in detail to the target group and to each other. This makes it clear that we are working together on a happy, healthy and sporty Netherlands, and reinforces this image.

Responsable gaming

down

Taking part in our games should, above all, be fun. That is why we are committed to responsible gaming. We don’t just say that, we also do it. Our eight talents are committed to our team mission: making sure no one gets into trouble because of our games. We don’t just do this because we have to, we do it primarily because we really believe in it.

“Our extensive search for the 12.8-million winner was followed by a large number of national media.”

How we do this

Nederlandse Loterij uses various ways to promote a happy, healthy and sporty Netherlands. We are proactive and involve people in what we do.

For example, by letting as many people as possible know that Nederlandse Loterij has paid a record amount of no less than 188 million euros in 2021. This money benefited sports, 18 charities and society. To be precise, we donated 50.4 million euros to NOC*NSF, 19.2 million euros to 18 charities and 118.4 million to the State of the Netherlands. That makes us proud, as an organisation and as a department.

This is also done by awarding the Nederlandse Loterij in Beweging Prijs to an initiative that sets the Netherlands in motion. The jury consists of prominent Dutch people such as Pieter van den Hoogenband, Hedy d’Ancona, Marjan Olfers and Hugo Borst.

Our search for the Staatsloterij winner of 12.8 million was also widely reported in various Dutch media. We pulled out all the stops when the winner was at risk of missing out on the prize. We distributed flyers in the neighbourhood, drove around in vans and flew around a plane with the text ‘Staatsloterij looking for winner’.
